    • A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 for Aaron "Bubba" Christopher Trahan, at Nouvelle Church of the Nazarene, 105 Merchants Blvd., Lafayette, LA.  Friends and family may gather beginning at 5 PM until the time of the service at 7PM to share heart-filled and uplifting stories in memory of his brief time on earth.

Bubba, born on November 29, 1994 in Okinawa, Japan, passed away suddenly on January 6, 2021 in Creole, LA.

He completed the Youth Challenge Program in the top 10% of his class, receiving his GED, then attended some semesters at SLCC in Automotive Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering. Bubba tried his hand at automotive mechanics, construction, lawn service, but truly found his home and calling aboard vessels.  From the bottom of the engine room to the topside views of the sunset, Bubba was on top of the world.

No other accomplishment in his life could put a smile on Bubba's face like his son, Nate.  Their time together was spent catching lizards, watching movies, building forts, and playing with reptiles and cars. Bubba enjoyed anything automotive, motorcycles, shooting pool, hunting, and fishing. He was known for his bravery and protectiveness over his family and friends. One of Bubba's proudest pastimes was shooting guns with his mom. He also found joy in any type of gathering where he could laugh and entertain the crowd.  He lit up the room just by walking in and everyone that knew him would tell you, he would literally give you the shirt off his back.

Bubba will be missed by all whose lives he touched with his charismatic and generous spirit.  He left behind his son, Nathan "Nate" William Saussy; mother Cynthia Anne Ritchey; father and step-mother Keith and Erica Trahan; older brother and sister-in-law Eric and Meaghan Trahan; younger brother Jason "Deuce" Carriere, II, sweet little sister Rylee Trahan; maternal and paternal grandmothers Sheila "Grammy" Chauvin and Beth "Nana" Trahan; god-mother Joy Lyons; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a fund for Bubba's son, Nate.  Contributions can be sent to Cindy Ritchey at 242 Woodrow Street #B23, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506.
