- A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Gautreaux Champagne, 79, will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, LA with Rev. J. Aaron Melancon as Celebrant. The family has requested that visitation be held at St. Theresa's Church Hall in Duson, LA and begin Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 12:00 PM, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM and continue until 9:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 8:00 AM until just prior to service time. Mrs. Champagne passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at her home in Scott, LA.
Mrs. Champagne is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Nelson Champagne of Scott, LA; daughter, Janet Johnson and her husband, William of Scott, LA; sons, Sidney Champagne of New Iberia, LA, Darrell Champagne and his wife, Racheal of Scott, LA; sisters, Ailene Thibodeaux and her husband, Wediese of Rayne, LA, Lillian Patin of Scott, LA ; brother, David Gautreaux and his wife, Mae of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Gautreaux and Emay Broussard Gautreaux.
