- Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at an 11:30 AM Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, for Aaron James Dupuis, age 60, who died on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, surrounded by his loved ones.
Entombment will be in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Maurice.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Abigail Scivicque and Lindsey Prewitt. Giftbearers will be Addie Prewitt and Shelly Trahan. Eulogists will be Charlotte Scivicque and Michael Dupuis. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Cindy Melancon Dupuis; two daughters, Casey Dupuis and Lainey Comiskey and her husband Sean; his mother, Genevieve Hebert Dupuis; two sisters, Debbie Prewitt and her husband Larry and Charlotte Scivicque and her husband Joe; three brothers, Glenn Dupuis, Michael Dupuis and his wife Betty and Richard Dupuis and his wife Maria; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthon Dupuis; and one nephew, Barlow Dupuis.
Aaron Dupuis was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, who graduated from Carencro High School in 1971 and worked for Total Safety, Inc. in Broussard. He enjoyed watching classic western tv, hunting, fishing and had a passion for motorcycles. One of his favorite past times was Sunday afternoon joy rides and grilling and cooking for his family. Aaron will be greatly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Richard Dupuis, Joe Scivicque, Larry Prewitt, Darryl Trahan, Dustan Daigle, Jared Dupuis, Sean Comiskey and Layne Schlabach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Dupuis, Michael Dupuis, Britten Dupuis, Newton Dupuis, Francis Dupuis and Wayne LeBlanc.
His family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center ICU for their efforts and compassionate care.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Kyle Faber on Sunday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
