  	A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Marie Carriere Matte, 99, who passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Very Rev. Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church New Cemetery in Church Point. The family is requesting the visitation to be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 7 o'clock in the evening in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 15, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Survivors include one son, Eddie and wife, Cynthia Matte, Jr. and one daughter, Judy and husband, George Cormier all of Church Point; two sisters, Lessilyn Viator of Church Point and Margaret Reviere of Crowley; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Ms. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Matte, Sr., one daughter, Anna Lee Stanford; one grandson, Shane Matte; one son-in-law, Eddie Stanford, Jr.; her parents, Maurice and Mathilda D.
