    • Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at a Mass of Christian Burial at La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Adam Clarence Dugas, 80, who passed away peacefully June 17, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

      Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

      The Rev. Louis Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Jaimee Dugas and Jessica Dugas. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", Here I Am Lord", "Yahweh, You Are Near" and "On Eagles' Wings" for the services.

      Survivors include two daughters, Betty Baudoin and her husband, Keith, of Lafayette, and Sandra Thevenet and her husband, Paul Jr., of Breaux Bridge; one son, Steven Dugas and his wife, Melissa, of Scott; two sisters, Eda Barras and Delta Laperouse and her husband, James; three brothers, Willis Dugas and his wife, Melba, R.L. Dugas and his wife, Mary, and Kernis Dugas and his wife, Loraine; and six grandchildren, Brad, Ashley, Adam, Mitchell, Jaimee and Jessica.

      He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanne Hebert Dugas; parents, Madison Dugas and Aurelia Dauphine Dugas; two sisters, Eve D. Belaire and Rita D. Theriot.

      A resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Dugas proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from Oct. 20, 1944 through Nov. 27, 1946, 87th Calvary Division, Troop E. He served in World War II and received many honors including a victory ribbons, two overseas service bars, Asiatic Pacific Campaign ribbon with one bronze star, Philippine Liberation ribbon with one bronze star, good conduct medal and Army of Occupation Japan ribbon. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

      Pallbearers will be Steven Dugas, Mitchell Thevenet, Keith Baudoin, Brad Baudoin, Paul Thevenet Jr. and Adam Thevenet.

      A rosary will be prayed Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

      The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday from 11 AM until 9 PM and will continue Wednesday from 8 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
